I almost skipped it because I was trying to hurry inside before they closed, but then that beat dropped and I just sat there in the dark staring at the steering wheel for ten minutes. It took me straight back to being in high school and sitting on the floor of my bedroom trying to learn all the choreo from the videos on TV. Actually I lie, I definitely heard this for the first time at a house party in like 2006 and nobody would tell me what it was. I spent three years looking for it because I misheard the lyrics completely and kept typing the wrong thing into search engines. Then I finally found it and played it to death for a month, but then I completely forgot it existed until tonight. It feels so good when you stumble back onto a track that just instantly shifts your whole mood like that. Why does nobody ever bring this one up when they talk about that whole era?
